A Beautiful Spirit's Ascension
July 24, 1984 - October 31, 2022
On July 24, 1984 the world was blessed with an exceptionally loving and caring spirit by the name of Marlo Whitaker. He was born at University Hospital in Newark. At his birth, the doctors predicted he would survive only 5 months, but Marlo fought and beat the odds and we were blessed with 38 years of
his loving presence.
At a very early age, he was adopted into the wonderful family of Mrs. Whittaker, who was gracious and kind enough to foster a relationship with his biological family so they could be part of his life.
Marlo's charm was his childlike innocent personality, and his love language was his huge bear hugs & kisses.
Marlo was extremely active and truly loved people. For those that knew Marlo, he loved to interact with others and wanted to hug everyone. Marlo cared for everyone, which was made apparent by the way he engaged and interacted with you.
Marlo loved to go out and participate in all events and activities, and was always the life of the party! Marlo loved to eat, sing, and dance. One of his favorite songs was "You Can Stand The Rain". He loved to joke around and make you laugh. HE WAS THE PARTY!
He thoroughly enjoyed his meals. Curry chicken & white rice were at the top of his "fave list". He had an infinite love for chocolate cake & Pepsi.
Marlo illuminated Community Access Unlimited with his bright and lighthearted soul since the day he graced Sheridan with his presence on January 11, 2013.
Marlo will be forever remembered by his biological parents, Millicent & Samuel, his older sisters & brothers both by blood & love..... and multiple nieces & nephews. As well as his CAU family.
A special thank you to the staff & the director, Ms. Jazmine White, of Community Access Unlimited, where Marlo resided the latter years of his life.
Despite his limited time here on earth, Marlo was deeply loved and brought immense joy to those around him. We may have lost an amazingly wonderful soul, but for all that knew him, his spirit will forever illuminate the depths of our hearts!
Always, you were loved.
Forever, you will remain.
We love you, Marlo.
